We don't have to live like the Amish anymore!

Our power came back on Friday night around 6 or so.  We didn’t get home until 7ish, but the house was nice and warm by the time we got home and the furnace had already stopped running by that time.  I had to go out to Gma’s to pick up Beanie, she had spent the day other there (they had a generator & heat!).  I ran into a freak blizzard on my way there.  I find it so strange when you are driving down the road, come around a curve or over a hill and you run into totally different weather.  It was crystal clear until I came up over a hill, then it was snowing so hard I could barely see.  By the time I got to Gma’s house collected my sleeping child and headed home it was crystal clear again.  I got home just in time to see the tail end of Dancing with the Stars- just in time to see Lisa being sent home.  I really like that show.  The only one I missed was this Thursday and that was only because we didn’t have any power.  I am looking forward to the Olympics being over; I want to watch Joey again.  I really hope they don’t cancel him.  I’ve heard that they might.  Sorry, but I really think Joey is better than The Office and 3 Kings/Queens- whatever that show is called!

Gomer went to a birthday party on Friday and returned home on Sunday.  They were going to go to Zehnders in Frankenmuth but decided to just go to Grand Rapids instead.  They stayed at a hotel on Alpine Ave.  Gomer told me when she got home that the Gma had taken the smaller kids to see 8 Below, the 2 Mom’s went to see Brokeback Mountain, and they had dropped off the 4 girls (ages 12 & 13) at Kohl’s.  They shopped there, then walked to Hobby Lobby, then walked back to the hotel.  I wasn’t too happy about that.  Granted the hotel is behind the strip mall that those stores are in and was a 5 minute walk for them.  What I wasn’t too pleased with was THEY ARE 12!  Should they really be left alone in GR, walking from store to store to hotel BY THEMSELVES?  People drive through that strip mall like crazy NASCAR Drivers wearing blindfolds.  They do not pay attention to people walking; all the drivers think they have the right of way even if they don’t.  I would not have allowed them to walk.   I will definitely be rethinking allowing her to go anywhere with that family again.

Friday night Jeff went out with Travis & Duke, after they left the bar Travis just had to go get some food.  They went to this place in White Cloud called Carrs (used to be called the Eaton House).  The owner is someone that I so don’t like.  She is a heavy yucky girl that has wanted Jeff since 1992.  She has lied about having relations with him, (trust me I know he didn’t- she is really yucky!)  Anyway, when they walked into the restaurant there was a table with 4 young girls sitting at it.  One of them turned out to be our niece Shana (she is 13/14 years old!).  Oh, by the way it was about 2:30 in the morning.  It was her weekend at her dad’s house.  He dj’s at the local bowling alley on the weekends- guess Disability doesn’t know about that!  He had left the girls around 2, they were now waiting for a ride home.   Jeff was ticked when he found that out.  He sat with her until their ride got there, then he proceeded to terrorize the poor boy that come to pick up the girls.  Told him that if she were to come up missing that he knew what this kid looked like and just what Jeff would do to this poor kid.  Duke had made a 40/50 year old man leave the restaurant because he was too close to the blonde (our niece).  Mel found out the next morning that her daughter had seen Jeff, she just didn’t know that the dad wasn’t with her.  She was ticked when she found out what really happened.  She had it out with the dad later that day, but the courts say he can do whatever he wants during his parenting time.  Isn’t that crazy?!

Saturday night Mel & I went out.  Lil’Man and Beanie went to Mel’s house- Jason stayed home & watched all the kids.   We went to a bar in White Cloud; it was so loud in there.  Mel even agreed, I was worried that I was just getting old.  After we left the bar (at 1am) we stopped at the bowling alley to see if Shana was there.  Well the bowling alley was closed, but people were still inside closing down.  Shana’s dad’s truck was still there, so that meant that Shana was still there too.  What kind of parent would have their 13 year old daughter out at a bar/bowling alley until the wee hours of the night?  Of course you can’t blame Shana for wanting to go with him, he lets her do things that 21 year olds are able to do.  Mel isn’t happy.  I would have wanted to do the same thing if it were available to me at that age.

Sunday was a lazy day.  We (kids & I) went to church, then to Wal-Mart to get a few things.  I have finally purchased curtains for my room.  Just one more thing to do to my room and the remodel is complete.  If it is ever complete I will post pictures.   I should have taken some before pictures.

This weekend my boss is being awarded “Agent of the Year”.  They (home office) would like his staff to surprise him by being there when it is presented.  I would like to go but I don’t think any of the other girls are going.  It is in Mt Pleasant, about an hour drive from my house.  After the lunch I could go to the casino and play.  I haven’t been to a casino in almost a year.  The last one I went to was w/ Jenn & David in Miami, OK.  I only like casinos if I am winning, I’m funny like that- I like to keep my money.

Well I have work to do, still have to install the new computer.
